Ok, so I won't post about every game, but I have to tell you about the game Trent played last night. Somehow we have lost our "power hitter" but we have gained a defensive machine. Crazy as it sounds. I literally was sick to my stomach the entire game. We were playing our rivals the "Bulldogs." (Maybe it's just the name...) Even though we had just beat them 15-6 in the 7/8 Tournament we knew that it would be a close and nerve racking game. And it was. Normally there are no more than 6 innings in a game (or 120 minutes) At the end of our 6 innings it was tied 7-7. But noooooo the Bulldog coach just insisted that we play one more inning. So there we went to play the 7th inning. Defensively it was the best game we had ever played. There were pop ups caught and great decisions made all over the field. In the top of the 7th they had no outs and bases loaded. Wham. Right to Trent. He caught a line drive and then stepped on third for an unassisted double-play. Then noticing that the 2nd baseman was running toward him he takes off towards 2nd only missing the player by an inch. 1 more inch and he would have had an unassisted triple play. It was awesome. The player on 2nd was more than twice Trent's size and Trent actually should have out ran him. After the game I was praising Trent for the play and said "Man, Trent you almost had that kid @ second. " His response, " I know mom, its Cannon. He is my friend." So in the end Trent didn't make the play because he was his "friend." Boy, when you are out on the field, you have no friends.~~~TAG HIM.......

In the end we did in fact lose by 2 runs. Only if my kid wasn't so nice......
