FALCONS TRAINING CAMP

I'm not a huge football fan... but I had won this AMAZING experience through STAR 94, a local radio station.
As soon as Trent and I arrived we where treated like VIPs. We were taken from parking in a shuttle to a VIP lounge area. They presented us with our VIP all access passes and we each received a Falcons backpack filled with goodies. We even got a gift card that we spent at the Falcons gift shop! Talk about awesome!

Pictured below is Harry Douglas. He was our neighbor in the Indian Hills subdivision that I grew up in. I have followed his career from Jonesboro Highschool, through Louisville and now the Falcons.

After we ate ...(they catered us a delicious meal) Trent got some autographs at the meet & greet.
#53 Mike Peterson Line Backer from Florida.
#52 Akeen Dent, Line Backer former player at UGA.. We didn't hold that against him.

I did learn that while the players are at the camp for these several weeks they can not leave. They sleep, eat, workout and practice there at the faculty. Here was a good picture of #3 Matt Bryant, kicker, visiting with his family after the practice.

Even though my beloved Days of Our Lives is not showing for 2 WEEKS because of the Olympic Coverage..... I LOVE THE Olympics! I will be glued to the TV for the next 2 weeks. (the Games of the XXX Olympiad)

This is the 3rd time London has hosted the Olympics. The opening ceremony was incredible.

DALLAS

Yippee! The kids and I were able to sneak away for a couple of days to Dallas to see the cousins! We had some much fun. I wasn't very good at taking pictures this trip for some reason and now I deeply regret it. Our trips at the airport were quite adventurous. Brett dropped us off at the airport Thursday morning on his way to work. As soon as we got to the atrium... Alyssa throws up... Her poor stomach was nervous I guess. So just imagine how frazzled I was standing in the security line for 35 minutes, trying to make our flight with a crying 8 year old. When we finally had our seats she was fine and I was tired.

After lunch we went back to the Drennan's and relaxed. Then Beth and I snuck out for a little tour of.....

It was awesome seeing the set where some much backstabbing took place. The Dallas Theme song was stuck in my head the entire trip!

And just in case you needed a refresher course of the family tree.....

We stayed busy while we were there. They had a ball. On Friday we visited Hawaaiian Falls their local waterpark. Again... no pictures. We did go to the mall on Saturday and have the girls pictures made. They came out so cute.

Let's Go Bravos!!

This is an awful picture that I took from my computer. But it was raining almost the entire time we were there so I didn't want to get my phone wet. But Christy and I had an awesome time at the Braves game even though it rained and the game started an hour late.

I did manage to get one autograph for Trent's book..
This Guy....
Sergio Romo who is a pitcher. He was very nice.

I was looking for Brian Wilson... but with the rain most stayed inside.... The Braves went into extra innings very late that night... we didnt stay because I had to be at the airport every early the next morning.

Chick-Fil-A

"How is it that the Cathy's automatically HATE gays and are ignorant, intolerant, bigots because they decide to support Christian biblical principles? Just because you show support for something doesn't mean you automatically hate everyone that doesn't share your beliefs. If Chik-Fil-A was truly intolerant of people not sharing their Christian beliefs they wouldn't allow anyone but Christian's in their restaurants. You people hating on Chik-Fil-A are the ones that are ignorant, intolerant, bigots."--Quoted from Source
Chick-Fil-A's tradition "is to treat every person with honor, dignity and respect - regardless of their belief, race, creed, sexual orientation or gender."

One question... Why was their statement such a shock to everyone? They are closed on Sunday's for a reason....I just don't get it.

I would like to thank those who are banning the restaurant though... the lines are shorter than normal.. for now... I'm sure they will pick back up soon once all the controversy blows over.

Happy Fourth!

Independence Day, commonly known as the Fourth of July, is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain. Independence Day is commonly associated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games, family reunions, and political speeches and ceremonies, in addition to various other public and private events celebrating the history, government, and traditions of the United States. Independence Day is the national day of the United States..

We spent the day at Mom and Dad's eating ribs with the family plus Rich and Kimberly! It was a nice day to sit outside and enjoy the weather, then come in the A/C and watch the Braves game.
