I haven't vented in a very long time. So much has built up inside so hear I go.... I aplogize in advance for offending anyone.
In light of the recent segment on WSB TV in which a teacher claims that the Henry County School system is racist becuase they made her take down a political poster my reaction is this........
Someone finally said it... How many are actually paying attention to this?
There are African Americans, Mexican Americans, Asian Americans, Arab Americans, etc. And then there are just Ameri-cans.
You pass me on the street and sneer in my direction. You call me 'White boy,' 'Cracker,' 'Honkey,' 'Whitey,' 'Caveman' ... and that's OK. But when I call you, Ni***r, Kike, Towel head, Sand-ni***r, Camel Jockey, Beaner, Gook, or Chink.... You call me a racist.
You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you... so why are the ghettos the most dangerous places to live?
You have the United Negro College Fund. You have Martin Luther King Day. You have Black History Month. You have Cesar Chavez Day. You have Yom Hashoah. You have Ma'uled Al-Nabi.
You have the NAACP. You have BET...
If we had WET (White Entertainment Television), we'd be racists. If we had a White Pride Day, you would... call us racists. If we had White History Month, we'd be racists. If we had any organization for only 20 whites to 'advance' OUR, lives we'd be racists.
We have an Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, a Black Chamber of Commerce, and then we just have the plain Chamber of Commerce. Wonder who pays for that?? A white woman could not be in the Miss Black American pageant, but any color can be in the Miss America pageant.
If we had a college fund that only gave white students scholarships ...You know we'd be racists. There are over 60 openly proclaimed Black Colleges in the US . Yet if there were 'White colleges' That would be a racist college.
In the Million Man March, you believed that you were marching for your race and rights. If we marched for our race and rights, you would call us racists. You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, and you're not afraid to announce it.
But when we announce our white pride, you call us racists. You rob us, carjack us, and shoot at us. But, when a white police officer shoots a black gang member or beats up a black drug-dealer running from the law and posing a threat to society, you call him a racist.
I am proud... But you call me a racist. Why is it that only whites can be racists?? There is nothing improper about this e-mail. Let's see which of you are proud enough to send it on. I sadly don't think many will.
That's why we have lost most of OUR RIGHTS in this country. We won't stand up for ourselves! BE PROUD TO BE WHITE! It's not a crime yet .. but getting real close!
I don't normally write about my beliefs. The sad part about it all was her claims were a lie. In the article she claimed that she only placed the photos up after the elction and was using her poster as a teaching tool, because "history was made." That my friend, I know was not the truth. I personally was in her classroom on Halloween. The pictures of only one President Elect were placed in front of the classroom. Regardless of who it was..... teachers in public schools have no constitutional right to express personal political or religous beliefs in the classroom.”
Teachers should not be spreading their political theory to students. I do not have a problem with a teacher debating, theorizing, and teaching about politics as long as it is balanced in this case it was not.

Wow! I can't believe that it has been 10 days since my last post. I have been really busy.

Last week I had a terrible eye infection. Never in my life had my eyes been soooo red. But all is well now.
Trent's ball season has started, so that has been taking up some of our weeknights.
I realized this week that I haven't had a haircut since October. My hair is sooo long. I just haven't had the time to do it.

American Idol has been really good. I like the new judge and the new way of doing things. Of course Danny (Robert Downey Jr., look alike) has been my favorite and the rocker Adam is Brett's favorite. Alyssa likes them all.

I haven't been able to watch any of my shows in true time. Thank god for my DVR.

Trent's principal passed away last week. It was very sad. He was only 52. So now we must start the process of finding a new principal for next year. That should be a very interesting process. Being on the school council I will get to help, very exciting.

A couple of weeks ago I found out that my office will be relocating to the CUMBERLAND MALL area. That totally sucks but I will have to deal with it for now.

As soon as I take recent pictures of the kids I will post them. I have been camera lazy for a couple of months now.

Hopefully Alyssa will get her cast off on Monday. Until then.......

Well, I took Alyssa to Scottish Rite yesterday with the intent of getting her cast off. But after another x-ray they decided to let her leave it on for another two weeks. She was so upset. I had to literally carry her out of the office crying and pitching a fit. She looked at the doctor and demanded that it be removed. She was so disappointed. So hopefully in two weeks it will be off.
Trent has the week off of school. At the last minute mom decided to go visit my grandmother (who is 85) in Florida so she took Trent with her. This is the first time that he has been away more than a day. The house seems alittle empty. (well not too empty with Taz) It's just different. I have spoken with him everyday and he is having so much fun. Grandma lives about 30 minutes from Orlando so they have been having alot of fun. He hasn't gotten homesick yet, but I am "homesick" for him. They should be coming home tomorrow.
Saturday I took Alyssa to a cowgirl birthday party. She had a blast. She has been so good this past week. I forgot my camera so I took a couple pictures with my phone. They are not the greatest pictures but here are a few.

New Do.

After months of contemplating I decided to finally do something with Alyssa's hair. It looks so cute. Don't ya think? Her bangs don't look straight in this picture, but I think it was the way they were laying..... and honestly they are never straight. She won't sit still long enough in the chair. lol.

Here We Go Again.

Well I can proudly say that we made it 1 year and 5 months with no cast. She fell at school on Tuesday and hit her arm on a desk. Actually she has trying to balance herself on those huge plastic Lego's and lost her balance. (Doing something she wasn't suppose to be doing)
Anyway, in her normal fashion it didn't phase her a bit. She only cried for a few minutes. It bruised and swelled.
Since the injury is near her elbow they put on a long cast. She is used to short ones because it is normally her wrist that gets fractured. But the cast didn't seem to bother her. Or so I thought. Last night I caught her trying to cut it off with a pizza cutter.
The great news is that it only has to stay on until Feb 16th. Whoo Hoo.

SHAME ON YOU!!
