A couple of things.....

Another Alyssa story......

I had put her in the tub and was going to let her play a little. Brett was going in there to watch her as I was hanging up clothes. Brett and I passed each other in the hallway. As I get to my room I hear "Alyssa, what did you do to your knee?" I was thinking oh another big bruise. Then Brett says "Lisa, get in here." I slowly made my way into the bathroom thinking that Brett was probably over reacting. There was blood coming from her legs. Apparently, little Miss Sunshine decided that she wanted to be silky smooth and SHAVE. She had attempted to shave her legs. A razor had dropped from the tub and she had found it behind the shower curtain. I was thinking that she would start hollering any minute, but she never cried. I think she was more worried about getting in trouble. I just said "I bet you won't do that again."

Trent is learning the value of money. And he loves to earn it. He cleans his room, Alyssa's room the play room, helps clean up the yard and takes the trash to the street. His eyes light up when I hand him his earnings. He is to save half and do whatever with the other half. Yesterday his teacher at summer camp stopped me to tell me what they will be doing these last few weeks that they are there. She said that they would be having a pizza party and are asking each child to contribute $4.00 towards the party. Sounds great to me. As we were leaving the school he said "Mom, I don't want to go to the party." "Why, I asked." He replied "I ain't paying $4.00 to go to no pizza party!!" I just started laughing. He thought that we wold make him pay his way into the pizza party. If he only new what a great deal that is....
